Steps to Remove Items Directly

  • Firstly, right click on Recycle Bin icon on desktop and select properties
  • In properties window, you can see option Don’t move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted
  • To apply the changes, hit OK.

You can now see that all your items are removed directly from the system.

  • Next, right click on an empty area on desktop and select Personalize
  • In the Personalize window, select Change desktop icons option in the left pane
  • Desktop icons window opens, here Uncheck the box Recycle bin and hit Ok.

Remove Recycle Bin using Windows Registry Editor

  • Open Run dialog box using Windows key + R. Type in regedit and hit Enter. It will open Windows Registry Editor
  • In the Windows Registry that opens, in the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Explorer > Desktop > NameSpace > 645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E

  • Right click on it and select delete from the context menu
  • Lastly, reboot your Windows PC to apply the changes done.

On Windows reboot you will notice that recycle Bin missing or say is hidden from the Windows 8 desktop.
