  • Press Windows key +R to open run dialog
  • Type in msconfig and hit enter. This will open the system configuration window.
  • Now, click on the startup tab, there you can see a list of items that runs at the start up. Simply uncheck the unnecessary startup programs that you don’t find necessary at the time of startup

Use Windows Registry to Configure Startup Applications

  • Bring up Run dialog box by pressing Windows key+ R and type regedit and hit OK to open windows registry
  • Upon prompted by UAC, click Yes to proceed
  • Next navigate to the entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run AND HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
  • In the right pane of Run or RunOnce, right click on a listed startup item that is to be removed, and click on Delete option
    Select Yes to confirm deletion
  • Once you are done close registry and r5estart to apply the changes.
