  • Upon prompted by UAC, click Yes
  • In the registry, in the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Policies > Microsoft > Windows > Personalization
  • On opening the Personalization folder, to the right pane you can see the option NoLockScreen
  • Click on NoLockScreen and its properties window opens. Here you need to edit the value for Value Data to 1 and check the HexaDecimal and hit OK.

Finally close the editor. So this way you can disable the Lock Screen in Windows 8.1.
