Fix – Distorted sound on Windows PC

Many users out there have come up with issues like Sound getting or gradually faints on Windows PC. When playing the video with the headphones on or speakers, you hear the distortion. In this case first identify who is causing the trouble, play video using other headphone. If the video plays without much distortion then the headphone is the culprit. If not, play video on other PC and see if the problem persists. If yes, then the video itself is the culprit. If the video plays fine on speakers then the headphones are the faulty ones.

It has been often noticed that Flash player overloads the system sound card causing the errors or the sound distortion. You can get it resolved by right-clicking on the playing Flash video and adjust it to 50%-75% approx.

You can also try adjusting the system volume. Click on the volume icon on the desktop taskbar and drag the sliders to adjust the settings and see if this helps fixing the distortion.

Open Device Manager to update the sound drivers. Double click on Sound and video Controllers and click to update or install all the listed items under it. Outdated driver are the culprits for making the sound distorted. You can also go for running troubleshooter to fix issues by following the guides.

Update the system or browser Flash Player. This will more likely help you fix issues with sound distortion. If the update doesn’t fix the issue then try getting to its earlier versions as sometimes new updates might not go with the Windows.
