  • Create a Wizard Disk using the FSTW and then use this to start the process on the source computer.
  • Launch from system tools.

To create Files and settings transfer wizard (FSTW) in order to get the files and the settings from the old computer, Follow the steps given below.

  • From the old computer click on Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Files And Settings Transfer Wizard

  • Under the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard dialog box, click Next, and then click Old Computer
  • Click Next, and then select a transfer method, such as USB removable drive
  • Click Next, and then click the option that corresponds to the items that you want to transfer.

  • Click Next two times, and then wait as the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard processes the items to transfer.
  • Upon completion of the process, click Finish.

Steps to transfer the files and the settings to the new computer.

  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
  • Under the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard dialog box, click Next, and then click New Computer
  • Click Next, and then click I don’t need the Wizard Disk. I have already collected my files and settings from my old computer.
  • Click Next, and then select a transfer method, such as USB drive. You need to select the same transfer method as it was for the old computer.
  • Click Next, and then wait as the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard processes the items to transfer
  • Lastly, click Finish upon completion of the process.

You can transfer files and settings between computer connected in a network by following the steps described above.
